Football Game Preview: Covina Colts vs. South Hills Huskies + Official Tickets

The Covina Colts will challenge the South Hills Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Covina will be strutting in after a win while South Hills will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Covina turned things around against Walnut on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Mustangs 24-21.

Covina didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Christopher Muro and Drew Goyne.

Meanwhile, South Hills came up short against Chino on Friday and fell 29-22.

Covina will have to keep a close watch on Fabian Marez and Jaylen Lang, a pair of players who had a big impact on South Hills' prior game. Marez rushed for 90 yards, while Lang gained 92 total yards and two touchdowns.

Covina's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-5. As for South Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Covina didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against South Hills in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 40-35 victory.
