Basketball Recap: Pleasant Ridge Comes Up Short

Pleasant Ridge lost against Tonganoxie back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pleasant Ridge Rams took a 74-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tonganoxie Chieftains.

Despite the loss, Pleasant Ridge still got an impressive performance from Wyatt Wilburn, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave Wilburn a new career-high in points. Dawson Hockett was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 11 points.

Pleasant Ridge has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Tonganoxie, they moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Pleasant Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-46 win against Jefferson County North on the 14th. Tonganoxie has also already played their next contest, a 0-0 draw against Paola on the 14th.
