Recap: Neosho Wildcats vs. Willard Tigers
The Neosho Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They suffered a rough 78-54 defeat at the hands of Willard. While losing is never fun, Neosho can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th, while Willard is ranked 55th).
Neosho's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Collier Hendricks, who scored 16 points along with three steals, and Colton Southern who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kanten Smith, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Neosho bumped their record down to 4-10 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Willard, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Neosho will face off against McDonald County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Willard will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Aurora at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
