Basketball Recap: Chester's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Chester lost to Plumas Charter last Thursday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Chester Volcanoes took down the Plumas Charter Warriors 54-35. The Volcanoes pushed the score to 48-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

When it comes to explaining why Plumas Charter lost, don't look at Dalton Bentz. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Bentz's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Owen Joseph, who posted nine points and three steals.

The victory (which was Chester's third in a row) raised their record to 6-4. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points per game. As for Plumas Charter, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chester will take on Plumas Charter in a tournament on Saturday. Plumas Charter and Paradise Adventist Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
