Soccer Recap: Bayfield Takes a Loss

Bayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pagosa Springs Pirates. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Bayfield couldn't quite close it out.

Sydney Rey and Jacqueline Boyce scored both of Bayfield's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Bayfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Pagosa Springs, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-3.

Coincidentally, Bayfield and Pagosa Springs will both be playing Montezuma-Cortez the next time they take the pitch. The Pirates will head out to face the Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Wolverines will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
