Basketball Recap: KIPP Denver Collegiate Takes a Loss

KIPP Denver Collegiate played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Kennedy Commanders and fell 59-19. The White Tigers were down 46-15 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Shaila Ramirez was KIPP Denver Collegiate's leading scorer, having posted six points. Ramirez also led the team in rebounds with eight.

Morgan Williams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kennedy, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Williams is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mercedes Gerry, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and five steals.

KIPP Denver Collegiate now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Kennedy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

KIPP Denver Collegiate will challenge Monument Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kennedy, they will take on DSST: Cedar at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. DSST: Cedar will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Kennedy surely won't give up without a fight.
