Baseball Game Preview: Tuscarawas Valley Trojans vs. Sandy Valley Cardinals

The Tuscarawas Valley Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Sandy Valley Cardinals at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Tuscarawas Valley came up short against Strasburg-Franklin and fell 9-5. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Sandy Valley faced off against Canton South on Thursday. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 23-4 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cardinals considering their one-run performance the match before.

Sandy Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Tuscarawas Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.

Tuscarawas Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Sandy Valley in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
