Baseball Recap: Manawa Wolves vs. Amherst Falcons
Manawa extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-14 in the process. They lost 14-4 to the Amherst Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-1 back in April.
As for Amherst, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. The result was nothing new for Amherst, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
For Amherst's part, Noah Spoelstra and Ethan Peskie were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Spoelstra tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Peskie tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Spoelstra posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last five contests.
