Make it 15 blowout wins for the Evangel Christian Lightning this season. They blew past East Central HomeSchool 74-37 at home. The win was nothing new for Evangel Christian as they're now sitting on six straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Evangel Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jonathan Gill, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gill has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Bugnar, who scored 15 points.
East Central HomeSchool's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Greyson Boyd, who scored 18 points. Asher King was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
Evangel Christian pushed their record up to 21-3 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.3 points. As for East Central HomeSchool, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.
Evangel Christian the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Ezekiel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Ezekiel Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 358th, while Evangel Christian is ranked 75th). East Central HomeSchool's road trip will continue as they head out to face Evangel Christian at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th.
