Basketball Game Preview: Phoenix Christian Cougars vs. Phoenix Country Day Eagles

The Phoenix Christian Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Phoenix Country Day Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Phoenix Christian has given up an average of 57.6 points per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Phoenix Christian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Arizona Lutheran Academy just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost to the Coyotes on the road by a 65-51 margin.

Meanwhile, Phoenix Country Day entered their tilt with Horizon Honors last Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They breezed past Horizon Honors to the tune of 64-31. Given Phoenix Country Day's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Horizon Honors is ranked 150th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Phoenix Christian now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Phoenix Country Day, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Phoenix Christian came up short against Phoenix Country Day in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 60-53. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
