Soccer Game Preview: Lake Howell vs. Lake Brantley

Lake Howell is 2-8 against Lake Brantley since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lake Howell Silverhawks will be playing at home against the Lake Brantley Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lake Howell's offense. They came up short against Lake Mary on Thursday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Silverhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Rams are ranked 19th).

Meanwhile, Lake Brantley kept a clean sheet against Seminole on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Seminoles 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Patriots were the better team in the second half.

Lake Brantley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six matchups. As for Lake Howell, they now have a losing record at 4-5-1.
