Basketball Recap: Durand Railroaders vs. Lakeville Falcons
The Durand Railroaders stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Lakeville 78-36 on the road. Given Durand's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Falcons are ranked 702nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Markell Tate continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Tate is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Levi Smith was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Durand has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Lakeville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Durand will challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeville, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
