Dowagiac entered their tilt with Edwardsburg on Saturday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Eddies. For the Chieftains, this counts as revenge for the 6-3 win the Eddies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Bree Campbell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addie Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Dowagiac's victory was their 17th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-2. As for Edwardsburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-10.

Dowagiac didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-3 win against Gull Lake on the 17th. As for Edwardsburg, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kalamazoo Central at 4:30 p.m. on the 28th.
