Football Recap: Sanger Skates Past Community with Ease

Sanger barely beat Community the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 62-26 victory over the Braves. With the Indians ahead 48-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Reginald Jones was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 230 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.8 yards per carry. Jones is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 120 every time he's taken the field this season. Reed Sebastian was another key player, having thrown for 250 yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sanger was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 355 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 193 rushing yards in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.

Several Braves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ranti Wilson, who rushed for 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 71 receiving yards. Cash Elston was another key player, picking up 191 receiving yards and one score.

Sanger now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Community, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Sanger has already played their next contest, a 60-42 defeat against Gunter on the 18th. As for Community, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-7 win against Western Hills on the 19th.
