Baseball Recap: Cane Bay Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Cane Bay was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They skirted past the Wando Warriors 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Cobras: when they faced off against the Warriors last Tuesday, they had to take a 9-2 loss.

Isaac Brace spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Drew Grimm and Niko Alvarez did most of the damage at the plate: Grimm scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Alvarez went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Cane Bay is undefeated when Grimm posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

Cane Bay's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Wando, they dropped their record down to 6-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Cane Bay will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
