Volleyball Recap: Clarkston Takes Down Ranked St. Pius X Catholic

Clarkston faced St. Pius X Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Angoras walked away with a 2-0 win over the Golden Lions. The Angoras have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Lions, too.

Clarkston easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-12.

Clarkston has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for St. Pius X Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarkston will take on Loganville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Angoras surely won't give up without a fight. After both having extra time off, St. Pius X Catholic and North Cobb will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
