Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Woodlawn's 11th in Last 14 Outings

Woodlawn had won three straight games and Andrea Kibler did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Woodlawn Cardinals came out on top against the Hamilton County Foxes by a score of 49-42 thanks in part to Kibler, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 13 points and seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played.

Ashtyn Griffin was another key player, putting up six points in addition to ten rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Hamilton County lost, don't look at Rayci Phelps. Despite the final result, she went 6 for 15 en route to 17 points along with five boards and four steals. That was a full 40.5% of Hamilton County's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kelsie Ashcraft, who scored six points.

Woodlawn has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Hamilton County, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
