Recap: Trinity Valley Trojans vs. Fort Worth Country Day Falcons
The Trinity Valley Trojans entered their tilt with the Fort Worth Country Day Falcons with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Trinity Valley managed a 23-19 victory over Fort Worth Country Day on Friday. This was payback for Trinity Valley, who suffered a 24-23 defeat the last time these two teams met.
It was another big night for Gavin Parkhurst, who rushed for 143 yards on only 13 carries, and also threw for 169 yards and a touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes. Jacob Mainord was in the mix too, providing Trinity Valley with two touchdowns.
Trinity Valley's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Cistercian and 2-7 Greenhill (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.3% over those games). As for Fort Worth Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Trinity Valley will head out on the road to face off against Houston Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Houston Christian will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. Fort Worth Country Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
