Baseball Recap: Putnam City Comes Up Short

Putnam City fell victim to Southmoore and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the SaberCats. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the SaberCats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Putnam City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jared Potter, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Potter has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Putnam City's loss dropped their record down to 3-33. As for Southmoore, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Putnam City will challenge Frederick at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Southmoore, they will take on Duncan at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
