Softball Recap: Cleveland Storm vs. Piedra Vista Panthers

Cleveland extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 9-15 in the process. They came up short against the Piedra Vista Panthers, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 on April 8th.

As for Piedra Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7-1 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

For Piedra Vista's part, BROOKELYNN CADRAIN was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. CADRAIN has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, TAQUIRA HOOD was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. ISABELLA JESSEE was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
