Softball Recap: West Geauga Takes a Loss

West Geauga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 11-7 to the Mayfield Wildcats. That's two games in a row now that the Wolverines have lost by exactly four runs.

Ava Borz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Shaylynn Rogaski was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

West Geauga's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Mayfield, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Geauga will host Kirtland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mayfield, they will challenge Kenston at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bombers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.71 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
