Softball Game Preview: Twentynine Palms Wildcats vs. Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs

The Twentynine Palms Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Twentynine Palms is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Twentynine Palms turned things around against Yucca Valley on Thursday. They blew past the Trojans 15-5. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Jenica Silvas made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Silvas was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Jada Lampkin was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mariah Coriaarmenta, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Twentynine Palms kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Coachella Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 15-5 to Yucca Valley.

Twentynine Palms' record is now 12-6. As for Coachella Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Twentynine Palms took their win against Coachella Valley in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 12-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
