Recap: Buford Yellowjackets vs. Central Eagles
The Buford Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell 53-45 to Central. Buford was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sierra Covington, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Taisha Quick, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Buford's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-8. As for Central, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12.
Buford will face off against York Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (York Prep is ranked 211th, while Buford is ranked 225th). As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Andrew Jackson at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Andrew Jackson will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
