Baseball Recap: Mount Juliet Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Mount Juliet kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Blackman Blaze by a score of 3-2. The Golden Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blaze apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

Matthew Dickey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Mount Juliet saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Griffith, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Griffith has posted since back in March of 2024.

Coming up, Mount Juliet will face off against Oakland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blackman, they will be playing at home against Green Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
