Softball Recap: Shaker Heights Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Shaker Heights entered their tilt with Euclid on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Panthers 16-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-1 on April 7th.

Scout Harvey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Eleanor Miller was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and one triple while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Milligan, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Shaker Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Shaker Heights pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Euclid, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.

Coming up, Shaker Heights will head out to challenge Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Euclid, they will host Villa Angela-St. Joseph at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
