The Eaglecrest Raptors will square off against the Northfield Nighthawks at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Eaglecrest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Eaglecrest needed a bit of extra time to put away Vista PEAK Prep. They came out on top against the Bison by a score of 13-10. The victory continues a trend for the Raptors in their matchups with the Bison: they've now won four in a row.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cosme Vera, who scored a run while going 6-for-6. Those six hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Anderson, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI and one run.
Eaglecrest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Northfield came tearing into last Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Bison with a sharp 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Nighthawks, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.
Mason Brennan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Eli Jackson was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Cameron Mejak was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Northfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Eaglecrest, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Eaglecrest hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Northfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.3 home runs.
