Softball Recap: Hazel Park Comes Up Short

Hazel Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 14-8 to the Clawson Trojans. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly six runs.

Lillian Griffiths (2027) and La'Onna Otis (2027) stepped up to the plate in a big way. Griffiths (2027) went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Otis (2027) went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Griffiths (2027) is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Platt (2027), who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Hazel Park's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Clawson, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hazel Park will challenge Eastpointe at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clawson, they will host Cousino at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
