Softball Game Preview: Trinity Lutheran Cougars vs. Madison Cubs

The Trinity Lutheran Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Madison Cubs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Trinity Lutheran has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 1.

On Friday, Trinity Lutheran came up short against Brownstown Central and fell 5-1.

Grace Lance spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Meanwhile, Madison didn't have quite enough to beat East Central on Friday and fell 4-3. The Cubs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Trinity Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Trinity Lutheran skirted past Madison 8-6 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
