La Center and Bellevue Christian squared off in some playoff action  on Saturday, but La Center had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of  5-4. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
La Center got a good showing from  Austin Aseph, who   pitched three innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   one  hit. That's the fewest  hits  Aseph has allowed since back in April.
 On the hitting side, La Center saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Houston Coyle, who  went 1-for-3 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
La Center's defeat dropped their record down to 25-5. As for Bellevue Christian, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record  this season.
