Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Georgetown's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Georgetown hadn't done well against Waccamaw recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Georgetown Bulldogs came out on top against the Waccamaw Warriors by a score of 56-47. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

It was another big night for Amos Jones, who posted 17 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmir M, who earned eight points and four steals.

Despite the loss, Waccamaw still got an impressive performance from Colin Behney, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Behney a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Sutton Cooper, who had eight points and eight rebounds.

Georgetown is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Waccamaw, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Georgetown will welcome Marlboro County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Georgetown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season. As for Waccamaw, they will host Loris at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Loris will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Waccamaw surely won't give up without a fight.
