Basketball Recap: Texas Triumphs

After losing to Jacksonville the last time they met, Texas decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Texas Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Jacksonville Fightin' Indians 64-61. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while the Fightin' Indians are ranked 802nd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Texas and bumps their season record up to 8-6. As for Jacksonville, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11.

Texas will try to stop Lufkin's 14-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Jacksonville will challenge Mt. Pleasant and their five-game winning streak at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
