Softball Recap: Colbert County Comes Up Short

After a string of three wins, Colbert County's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They came up short against the Sulligent Blue Devils, falling 9-2.

Colbert County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Summers, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Colbert County's loss dropped their record down to 17-15-1. As for Sulligent, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-9-1 record this season.

Colbert County will challenge Red Bay at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Sulligent, they will face off against Hackleburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
