Baseball Recap: Mount Greylock Regional Victorious

Mount Greylock Regional proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by six) and on Sunday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Holyoke Purple Knights 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mounties have posted since April 8th.

Jake Newberry was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Mount Greylock Regional is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Holyoke, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

As of now, neither Mount Greylock Regional nor the Purple Knights have any future games scheduled.
