Baseball Game Preview: Mesa Ridge Grizzlies vs. Coronado Cougars

For the second straight game, Mesa Ridge will face off against Coronado. The Grizzlies will head out to square off against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mesa Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Mesa Ridge proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Coronado 8-7.

Ozcar Walker and Brandon Bittner did most of the damage at the plate: Walker went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles, while Bittner got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs. That's the most RBI Walker has posted since back in March. Bryce Riehl was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Mesa Ridge's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Coronado, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
