Basketball Recap: Nauset Regional Takes a Loss

Nauset Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wareham Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered against the Vikings since December 27, 2019.

Nauset Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Wareham, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

Nauset Regional and Wareham could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. Nauset Regional will square off against Dennis-Yarmouth Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 112 places (223 vs. 111). Similarly, Wareham (ranked 128th) will meet Bourne (ranked 45th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
