Football Game Preview: Chinle Wildcats vs. Window Rock Fighting Scouts

The Chinle Wildcats will square off against the Window Rock Fighting Scouts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chinle has five straight victories, Window Rock has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Friday, Chinle beat Ganado 26-15.

Chinle found their leader in sophomore Cody Curley, who rushed for 191 yards and three scores. With that strong performance, Curley is now averaging an impressive 112.5 rushing yards per game.

Chinle was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 79.2 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five matchups they've averaged 225.3.

Meanwhile, Window Rock lost 28-8 to Ganado on Friday.

Window Rock's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Chinle, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Chinle against Window Rock when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 50-0 victory. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fighting Scouts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
