Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Cleveland). They put the hurt on the St. Clair Cyclones with a sharp  19-1 win on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Clippers with their most commanding win of the  season.
 Alex Kortuem made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those  eight  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Caleb Connor, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and one  double. Those  five  RBI gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Nathan Seeman, who  went 2-for-4 with four  runs and three  RBI.
 Cleveland was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .406. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Cleveland pushed their record up to 11-4 with the  victory, which was their third straight  on the road. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for St. Clair,  they are  on  a  12-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cleveland will square off against Mountain Lake/Comfrey at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for St. Clair, they will welcome Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton  at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
