Baseball Game Preview: Notre Dame (SO) Knights vs. Cypress Centurions

The Notre Dame (SO) Knights will take on the Cypress Centurions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither Notre Dame (SO) nor Cypress posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

After dropping their season opener at home, Cypress is headed out to face a Knights team ready to give their home crowd a win. Notre Dame (SO) took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of JSerra Catholic on Tuesday.

Notre Dame (SO) got a good showing from Patrick Arranaga, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Notre Dame (SO) saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dru Wilson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Cypress' offense. They fell just short of Harvard-Westlake by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Centurions haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Notre Dame (SO) took their victory against Cypress in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 9-3. Will Notre Dame (SO) repeat their success, or does Cypress have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
