Softball Recap: Mountain Pointe Pride vs. Skyline Coyotes
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain Pointe). They were the clear victor by a 16-4 margin over the Skyline Coyotes on Friday. The Pride haven't had any issues with the Coyotes recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Lauryn Chavez made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, JoJo Castillo was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She also stole a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Evita Delgado, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
