Preview: Jordan Red Jackets vs. Academy for Classical Education Gryphons
Jordan has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Academy for Classical Education Gryphons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Jordan suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Kendrick, falling 77-48. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jordan in their matchups with Kendrick: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, Academy for Classical Education's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 78-44 defeat at the hands of Spencer. While losing is never fun, Academy for Classical Education can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while Spencer is ranked 142nd).
Jordan dropped their record down to 2-15 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road. As for Academy for Classical Education, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Jordan came up short against Academy for Classical Education in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 65-57. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Academy for Classical Education's Kaleb Scarbary, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 19 rebounds.
