On Friday, The Roosevelt Roughriders''s game was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They pulled ahead with a 28-27 photo finish over Severance. That's another feather in the cap for Roosevelt, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Roosevelt to victory were Bronco Hartson and Xavier Ramirez. Hartson rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown, while Ramirez rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
Severance's loss came despite strong showings from Ian Pennock and Jaden Hoffman. Pennock rushed for 179 yards and a touchdown, while Hoffman threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes.
Roosevelt's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Severance, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Roosevelt will be playing at home against Thompson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thompson Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Severance, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountain View at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Mountain View is ranked 102nd, while Severance is ranked 108th).
