South Stanly dropped their record down to 12-13 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They took  a  6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Stanly Comets. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Comets this season,  with their most recent  defeat being a  9-2  loss  back in April.
  Piper Huneycutt was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with one  home run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ashelyn Tucker, who  went 2-for-3 with one  RBI.
As for North Stanly, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-6. Six seems to be a good number for they as the  squad scooped up a  win with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
On North Stanly's side,  Sophia Crist spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.
 On the hitting side,  Leah Frick was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with four  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was  Breauna Speight, who  went 1-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
As of now, neither South Stanly nor North Stanly have any future games scheduled.
