Preview: Eagle River Wolves vs. Bartlett Golden Bears
Eagle River is 1-9 against Bartlett since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagle River Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Bartlett Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. Eagle River comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for Eagle River, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-38 loss to West Valley.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brooklyn Rollman, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gabby Palozzini, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Bartlett was the victim of a tough 52-27 defeat at the hands of Thunder Mountain on Friday. While losing is never fun, Bartlett can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Thunder Mountain is ranked fifth).
Eagle River's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bartlett, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Eagle River came up short against Bartlett when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 38-27. Can Eagle River avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
