Flag Football Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short Despite Jaylene Sangenito's Big Defensive Game

Centennial lost against Roosevelt back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Huskies took a 20-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.

Even if they lost, Centennial's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jaylene Sangenito. Sangenito is crushing it when it comes to sacks: she's posted at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Centennial has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-15 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.0 points on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9.

Looking ahead, Centennial will be taking part in a tournament against King at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Roosevelt has already played their next contest (against Poly), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
