Basketball Recap: Borrego Springs Takes a Loss

Borrego Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Julian Eagles 62-22. The Rams lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 37-35 score last time.

Despite the loss, Borrego Springs had strong showings from Keny Navarro, who posted four points and five rebounds, and Travis Asche, who had six points and six boards. Those four points gave Navarro a new career-high. Dulce (Vanessa) Morales also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Even though they lost, Borrego Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Borrego Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Julian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.

Borrego Springs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-5 loss against Warner on the 31st. As for Julian, they have also already played their next game, a 50-40 win against Calexico Mission on the 29th.
