Soccer Game Preview: Torres vs. Marquez

Torres is 2-8 against Marquez since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Torres Toros will welcome the Marquez Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. Torres' last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Thursday, it was close, but Torres sidestepped Maywood Academy for a 2-1 win. That's two games straight that the Toros have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Marquez waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Bulldogs onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The Gladiators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by three goals or more this season.

Marquez's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Torres, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-6-1.
