Elk Grove is 7-1 against Franklin since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Thundering Herd will face off against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Elk Grove and three for Franklin.

Elk Grove came up short against Manteca on Friday, falling 3-0.

Elk Grove couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Manteca a tough time in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 30-28, 25-17, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Franklin lost 3-0 to Monterey Trail on Thursday.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-16, 25-18.

Elk Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.

Elk Grove came out on top in a nail-biter against Franklin when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thundering Herd since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
