Football Recap: Walton Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Walton kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the McEachern Indians 50-17. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2020.

Despite the loss, Walton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mj Burnett forced one fumble and made 11 total tackles (1.0 for loss) in addition to snagging three interceptions which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Walton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Burnett and Caden Young. Burnett is on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Looking ahead, Walton will venture away from home to take on Lambert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for McEachern, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on North Cobb at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
