Softball Game Preview: Salem Witches vs. Saugus Sachems

The Salem Witches will square off against the Saugus Sachems at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Salem is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Monday, Salem came up short against Winthrop and fell 4-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saugus). They put the hurt on Melrose with a sharp 24-15 win on Monday. With that victory, the Sachems brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Saugus' win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Salem couldn't quite get it done against Saugus in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 as they fell 5-2. Can the Witches avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
