Weslaco East had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They came out on top against the Rivera Raiders by a score of 7-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-4 on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on James Abrego, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Marcelo Zavala was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Weslaco East's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Rivera, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-6.

As of now, neither Weslaco East nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
